Send DXF, DWG, STEP or PDF files, or bring the existing cabinet or a sample to Smithfield and we will measure it and produce the flat patterns. Every cutout for a gland, a display, a switch or a vent is cut on the laser in the same operation as the blank, so a layout change is a file change rather than new tooling, and the holes land where the drawing says.
Blanks are folded on our own floor. Heavier plate and unusually long folds go to a press brake subcontractor we have used for years and are managed by us under the same purchase order. Mild steel cabinets are MIG welded; stainless enclosures are TIG welded, with back purging where the inside of the joint has to stay clean, then dressed and passivated so there is no crevice or heat tint left to harbour product.
Every enclosure is checked back to the drawing after welding, because distortion is what puts a door out of square. Weld dressing, linishing and deburring are done in house, and powder coating is arranged with finishers we have used for years and stays on the same purchase order.
